We believe that making disciples of Christ starts with the local community. Church of the Cross is dedicated to helping children learn and grow in the loving atmosphere of Lexington Child Development Center (LCDC).
The Lexington Child Development Center is a mission of Lexington United Methodist Church of the Cross, which supports Christian values. Our mission is to love, care, and develop children so they can reach their full potential while preparing for school. Give them the support they need to grow and thrive in a safe and welcoming environment.
LCDC offers AM or PM preschool classes and childcare for children ages 3-5, kindergarten enrichment, and school-age childcare, up to 4th grade.

LCDC Preschool is for children 3-5 years old and fully potty trained. Our morning preschool runs from 9:00am-11:30am each morning, and our afternoon preschool runs from 12:30pm-3:00pm on M, W, F. Children may attend the preschool two, three, or five days a week, depending on age.
Childcare is available to children enrolled in an AM preschool class. All children enrolled in childcare will transition to their AM preschool class at 8:50am.
Each preschool day consists of circle/calendar time, large motor play, music class, and activities/centers. The activities/centers are theme-based, hands-on, and created to assist in the learning process. We use the Pinnacle Faith-based Curriculum, which meets the Early Learning Development Standards established by the Ohio Department of Education.
Kindergarten Enrichment students attend Lexington’s AM Kindergarten and are then bussed to LCDC. Students arrive in time for lunch followed by recess, and then class. The enrichment class reinforces lessons and skills taught in kindergarten along with offering activities to challenge the students with the Pinnacle Faith-based Curriculum. Activities include handwriting, arts/crafts, music, science, reading/literacy, and math.
Students may come to the center before and/or after school. The Lexington school bus will pick students up from LCDC in the morning and bring them back at the end of their school day. All students are served an afternoon snack followed by free choice play in the gym, or outside on the playground, weather permitting.
